India’s largest airline, IndiGo updated on its website that flights services from Delhi’s T2 terminal will resume from July 22, 2021. The interesting thing is while IndiGo has updated it, there’s no word from the Delhi Airport itself. According to a TNN report, the Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) hasn’t revealed any official date for the resumption of the T2 terminal, but if IndiGo’s statement were to be believed, the T2 terminal will resume from July 22, 2021.

IndiGo Lists Flights That Will Arrive and Depart from T2 Terminal

IndiGo has already updated the flight numbers that will arrive and depart from the concerned airport terminal. The airline said that its flight numbers 6E 2000 - 6E 2999 will arrive and depart from the T2 terminal of Delhi International Airport from July 22, 2021. IndiGo has asked the passengers to carefully check their flight number and move towards the right terminal to ensure a hassle-free journey.

As per the publication’s report, the DIAL official said the T2 terminal might be resumed within this month. The Delhi airport is already handling daily passenger traffic of 1.2 lakh people in February. The airport saw a decline in the number of passengers to 30,000 around the second-wave period but now the daily traffic averages at 60,000 people.

For the time being, only the T3 terminal of the Indira Gandhi International Airport for all domestic as well as international passengers is being used. But as the passenger traffic increases with time, the need for T2 terminal will increase.

Since IndiGo has already announced that its few flights will land and take-off from the T2 terminal, it is safe to assume that from July 22, 2021, the terminal will indeed resume operations. The official word from DIAL must be around the corner already and won’t be a surprise for anyone given IndiGo has already revealed the plans.
