Aarogya Setu App To become Mandatory for Passengers Entering the Airport

Web Stories

With the spread of COVID-19, it has become mandatory that people take precautions and safety measures when they are entering the airport for flying. You will be adequately screened to ensure that you are not carrying the virus. One of the things that might become mandatory for you once the lockdown lifts and airlines start commercial operation is the installation of Aarogya Setu app on your device. There is no official confirmation for the same from the government or the Airports Authority of India (AAI). Still, there are some preliminary discussions going on between the officials, and the verdict will be out soon.

What is Aarogya Setu App?

Every country and government has been working on their tracking apps to help people identify if they come across any person who is/has been infected with COVID-19. Aarogya Setu is one such app, but there are other benefits of using the app as well. With the help of Aarogya Setu, you will be able to do a self-analysis of whether you are infected from COVID-19 or not. It has a list of all of the symptoms that a person goes through when he/she is infected. Along with that, there are also tips/advice on the app to avoid getting infected from the virus. Every person will be given a colour coded designation by the app, which will tell if they are infected or not.

Passengers Might have to Download the App as Per Government Requirements

The passengers travelling from flights once the lockdown is lifted may have to download the Aarogya Setu app mandatorily. This will happen if the proposed order is passed in the Aviation ministry, and when that happens, passengers travelling without the app on their device won’t be allowed to board the plane. The commercial flights are going to start soon from May 18, and some flights may take off before the lockdown is over. So ensure that you have the Aarogya Setu app on your device.
