Aero India 2021 event started yesterday. It is a three-day event (Feb 3 to Feb 5, 2021) which will not include the public. The event saw many new technologies related to the aviation sector being unfolded on the first day. During the event, USA flew its heavy bomber B-1B lancer in the outskirts of Bangalore to showcase its power and capabilities. The American B-1B bomber flew to Bangalore a week back from the start of the event from the Ellsworth Air Force Base in USA’s South Dakota — more details on the story ahead.
America’s Heavy Bomber B-1B Arrives India, 28 Countries Pitch in Too
As per an IANS report, the Boeing B-1B flew with made in India Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas to display its various capabilities at the inaugural event of the three-day Aero India event taking place in the Yelahanka base of the Indian Air Force (IAF) present in outskirts of the city.
For the unaware, this aircraft is nicknamed ‘The Bone’ and has been deployed in multiple combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan since 2001.
A thing worth noting here is that this is the first air and hybrid show globally since the time coronavirus-pandemic broke out. According to a Financial Express report, the defence minister of India, Rajnath Singh also came to the event. He said that this doesn’t just create a technological base but also creates new relationships and bonds between the industry leaders in the aerospace all over the world.
It puts India in the map as an ally for multiple countries. It further creates opportunities for India to join forces with other nations in building better tech and infrastructure for the aerospace industry. Defence ministers from various countries became a part of this event too. To be precise, 28 countries accepted to be a part of this event either virtually or physically.
After the conclave ends on February 5, 2021, around 200 MoU partnership agreements are estimated to be signed. This is certainly going to help not only India but multiple nations all over the world.
