The national air carrier keeps in mind the best interests of its flyers. The range of offers that it simply provides is phenomenal. But due to not being able to generate enough profits for quite some time now, Air India has run into serious troubles now and then. The airline had to face the threat of stoppage of air-fuel supply from various oil companies after it couldn’t manage to pay off its debt towards them. One of the bigger issues that Air India is facing currently is of privatisation. Earlier it was just a speculation that the government will be looking to go this way, but a few months back, the government made it clear that it doesn’t want to take responsibility of the airline any longer. They set up a special debt clearing body - Air India Assets Holding Ltd (AIAHL) so that the process of debt clearing moves faster. AIAHL has been helpful since it has been able to generate thousands of crores by issuing public bonds and now the final sale of the airline is likely to be finalised in March 2020. Air India has some interesting policies revolving most of its services. Air India flight cancellation policies are not something you want to miss out on if you are a frequent flyer.

Air India Flight Cancellation Policies

Air India flight cancellation policies are not very different from other airlines such as Vistara. So first of all, how do you cancel your booking? Only if you have booked your flight ticket directly from the Air India’s website, go to its website. For tickets booked with third-party applications or sources, please go to the respective application. Once you have come to the website, you can find the option of ‘my booking’ and click on it. Enter the PNR number provided to you by the airline either on your mail or phone number or you can also find it from your my booking section only. Any unutilized ticket present in my booking section can be changed or cancelled. According to the Air India flight cancellation policies, any booking that is changed or cancelled is chargeable by the airline. But in case the flight is cancelled because of Air India’s responsibility, you will be eligible for a full refund. You can also opt to choose to fly in an alternate flight. The same way, under my booking section, you can also choose to modify your booking instead of cancelling it on your convenience.
