Air India, the state-owned airline is soon going to be handed over to the Tatas. According to a Hindustan Times report, Air India’s handover should be any time post-Republic Day, which is on January 26, 2022. To recall, Tata Sons had placed the highest bid for Air India and the government had awarded the cash-strapped airline to the Tata Group, where it came from.
While the final handover date hasn’t been finalised, it should be done post-Republic Day. The airline officials will have to work very hard for the next few days where the Tata Group is reviewing the accounts as of January 20, 2022. By Thursday, which is on January 27, 2022, the airline might be handed over to the Tatas.
