Air India Announces New Flight Service Between Bengaluru and London

In response to the continuing demands from the passengers, primarily from Bengaluru region, the national carrier Air India has decided to launch flight service connecting Bengaluru with London, according to Economic Times. The service will be available three times a week.

A Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft will offer the service.  From Bengaluru to London, the flights will be available on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. From London, the return flights will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Currently, the two-way ticket cost is Rs. 1,29,500 for business class, and Rs. 35,220 for the economy. However, this is an introductory offer and is subject to change in future.

The non-stop flight will take off from Bengaluru airport at 5.25 am and arrives in London at 11.05 am. From London, the aircraft takes off at 1 pm and reaches Bengaluru at 4 am. Air India already provides service to London from New Delhi, Mumbai and Ahmadabad.

According to the data released by Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), there is a surge in the number of passengers using air service as a travel option. From January to August 2018, around 913.95 lakh passengers used domestic airline services. During the same period last year, the count was 754.11 lakh passengers, which reportedly caused a 21.20% increase in passenger traffic.
