Air India has announced a series of new domestic and international flights. The national carrier plans to commence direct flights to Nairobi, Kenya from October 2019. The airline also has plans to launch flights on Bhopal-Bengaluru route in October 2019. Another plan is to introduce flights to Bangkok from Indore.
“We are planning to launch a direct flight to Nairobi in October this year. The region has immense tourism potential,” Ashwani Lohani, Chairman and Managing Director of Air India, said to Press Trust of India.
“Currently, Air India has a capacity of 4,500 seats for Dubai. It plans to enhance it to 5,800 seats by winter by starting four more flights for the Gulf nation,” Lohani added.
Air India’s flights to Kolkata, Hyderabad, Kunnoor and Kochi will start from October 10. The airline will soon commence direct flights on the Kolkata-Dubai-Kolkata and Delhi-Toronto-Delhi routes. The carrier launched its first Indore-Dubai flight on Monday.
The one-way ticket on Delhi-Toronto route costs INR 50,889 on economy class, and the return ticket will cost around INR 92,734. Air India will start thrice-a-week flights from September 27 on the route.
In a separate offer, Air India is offering a 10% discount on international flight tickets under its 'Monsoon Bonanza Offer'. Bookings under the sale can be made till August 10. The discounted fares are available for travel to select cities of the United Kingdom, Europe and Israel, according to Air India's website.
