Budget Airline, AirAsia India declared the induction of their 19th aircraft and along with that emphasised about consolidating their domestic network by adding two new routes. The new aircraft, that is, Airbus A320 is based at AirAsia’s Kolkata hub and will be operating daily flights on Hyderabad-Kolkata and Hyderabad-Indore routes from October 1, the airline stated. In addition to the two new routes, the aircraft would also be used for enhancing the frequency of flights between Hyderabad and Bengaluru.
"With the 19th aircraft, AirAsia India is introducing two new routes connecting Hyderabad to Indore and Kolkata, increasing the frequency of flights between Hyderabad and Bengaluru," the airline said in a statement.

The bookings for the new routes are now open. Talking about the fares and the service that would be provided, the airline informed, “The airline is focused on expanding its presence in tier II or tier III cities, providing affordable airfares and improved services for flyers.”
As per the latest report, the airline would start in operations in the Hyderabad-Kolkata route for which the departing flight from Hyderabad would leave at 19:40 and it would reach Kolkata by 22:10, similarly, the return flight from Kolkata would leave at 4:40 in the morning and it would land at Hyderabad airport at 6:50. The fare for these flights from both the sides will be same and will cost the passengers Rs 2,083. The next route of Hyderabad-Indore and the return route of Indore-Hyderabad would have two flights daily with the first flight departing from Hyderabad at 7:35 and reaching Indore at 8:55, and the second flight departing at 15:15 and reaching Indore by 16:45.

Whereas the return flights in the Indore-Hyderabad route will include the first flight in the morning leaving Indore at 9:30 and reaching Hyderabad at 11:00 and the second flight departing from Indore at 17:15 in the evening and reaching Indore at 19:00. The cost for these flights from Hyderabad to Indore and from Indore to Hyderabad would be Rs 1,883.

According to the norms of the government, any domestic airline needs to have at least 20 aircraft in its fleet before stepping into the international sector. With the induction of their 19th aircraft, the Bengaluru-based airline that is the joint venture of Tata Sons and Air Asia Group, is only one aircraft short of being eligible for international operations.

AirAsia India currently flies to 21 destinations, from its three hubs, that are Bengaluru, New Delhi and Kolkata.
