Web Stories

Air India has been in talks a lot recently much because of the governments' decision to privatise the airline. The airline has been reported to be in a debt of Rs 54,000 crores but Air India Assets Holding Ltd is one special body created by the government to help ease the pressure of debt on the airline. AIAHL has been successful in doing so by issuing public bonds and paid off a huge amount of the airline’s debt already. Air India has been one of the most reputable airline companies in the domestic market segment and since up till now it was driven by the government, it enjoyed some special perks. Air India hasn’t provided its customers with a lot of privilege services in the past though like most of the other private airlines. Though there is the Premium Clubs service by Air India which extends some attractive benefits to the Air India flyers.

What Is Premium Clubs?

Premium Clubs is simply the special or premium members program of Air India. Just like any other airline, The airline has also distributed its premium customers into three categories to classify them as their most privileged customers. The customer who is in the highest tier or club of the airline will get to enjoy the most benefits amongst everyone. The three categories of clubs are The Maharaja Club, Golden Edge Club, and The Silver Edge Club.

The Silver Edge Club From Air India

This is the lowest tier of club amongst the three. To enter this club, you have to at least have 25,000 status FR points in a period of rolling 12 months. Even though it is the lowest club in status, it still has a lot of perks. By becoming a silver edge member of Air India, you will be allowed an additional 10 kgs of baggage completely free. You will also be allowed to carry one additional piece of baggage along with the one you are already carrying. The additional baggage scheme is removed when the Air India flights are the ones being operated with ATR/CRJ aircraft, on Air India code share flights and Arline’s Partner Flights. You will also be able to access the dedicated check-in counters on the selected airports. Priority check-in and boarding is there too.

The Golden Edge Club From Air India
