A designator code is assigned to every airline in the world. IndiGo's code is "6E," Go First's is "G8,," and Air India's is "AI," for example.
In August 2021, the airline got the Ministry of Civil Aviation's no-objection certificate (NOC) to begin commercial flying operations. The airline is supported by aviation experts Vinay Dube and Aditya Ghosh, in addition to Rakesh Jhunjhunwala.
Following the approval of the Boeing 737 Max by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation in late August of last year, Akasa Air inked a contract with Boeing on November 26, 2021 to acquire 72 Max aircraft.
