Etihad Airways in a statement on its website said that Australian authorities have now allowed a foreign increase in the number of flight seats between Abu Dhabi and Sydney. This development came about after Sydney will be opening for Australians and permanent residents from November 1st without any quarantine. Vaccinated Australians and permanent residents won’t be needing mandatory quarantine as they arrive in Sydney.

New Covid Guidelines for the Passengers Arriving

Etihad has been planning to expand its network and services from Abu Dhabi to Johannes burg, Cape Town, and the Indian Ocean Island of Zanzibar from November which will result in the airlines being operational in 70 destinations across 47 countries. The CEO of Etihad’s group Tony Douglas said in a statement that they are proud to be launching Etihad’s newest destinations in Africa from the winter and are confident that the guests will find all the places quite incredible.

The passengers arriving in Australia until October 31st may be subjected to a quarantine period of fourteen days however, new guidelines have been laid for passengers arriving from November 1st. these regulations include vaccinated Australians and permanent residents not being subjected to mandatory quarantine when arriving in Sydney. Passengers also need to carry a show proof of vaccination status at the airport check-in on departure. Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Moderna, or Johnson & Johnson at the listed and approved Covid-19 vaccines. However, children under the age of twelve, or those who cannot be vaccinated for medical reasons may apply for an exemption.
