Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) is making all the necessary arrangements to encourage social distancing post lockdown period. Since the government has urged the entire nation to follow Social distancing, Bangalore Airport has made special guidelines which will be imposed once the lockdown period is lifted. Passengers will have to follow all the guidelines stated by the Bangalore Airport. The Airport premises have already been restructured to ensure that passengers maintain a safe distance and stop the chain of the deadly virus. Here are all the measures are taken by Bangalore airport to promote social distancing in Airport premises.
Web Check-in Instead of Airport Check-in
Bangalore Airport will urge the passengers to opt for Web check-in instead of Airport check-in. Since Airport check-in will push passengers to come in contact with high-touch surfaces, it would increase the chances of the virus spread, whereas Web check-in will help the passengers to check-in without standing in long queues. Not only this, but Airport premises will also arrange self-bag drop facility for passengers.
Extra Spaces Will be Made in Crowded Places
The Airport has been restructured to encourage social distancing. All the waiting areas, F&B outlets have been rearranged so that passengers can have a safe journey. Not only this, but Bangalore Airport has also made a healthy separation at check-in counters and boarding gates. Special markers have also been installed for passengers to avoid clusters and ensure safe air travel.
Airport Premises Will be Sanitised Frequently
The Airport staff will sanitise the entire premises frequently. Nearly, 500 Hand Sanitisers have been placed across the Airport so that passengers can disinfect themselves. Also, Bangalore Airport will Sanitise all the frequently touched places like elevators, luggage trolleys, chairs and many more. Not only this, but Bangalore Airport has also made Thermal Screening mandatory for passengers.
