Social distancing has become the need of the hour. Airports Authority of India has been in discussions with the airlines and airports all across India to oversee that social distancing norms are being followed for when the services resume. According to the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), none of the CISF personnel
will be stamping the boarding passes of passengers anymore. Currently, during the pre-embarkation security check (PESC) at airports
, CISF personnel verified the boarding pass and stamped it for approval. But that’s being stopped now to ensure that social distancing is maintained at its truest form.
Passengers can Carry 350ml Liquids in Cabin Luggage
According to the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security
, passengers can carry up to 350ml liquids with them to the cabin. But the 350ml liquid can only be hand sanitiser
and nothing else. BCAS has advised passengers to use hand sanitisers very frequently when they are at the airport and in the plane. As of now, only 100ml liquid is allowed in the hand-baggage of the passenger, but that limit has been increased for when the flights resume. More than 13 CISF personnel have tested positive for COVID-19 and that is why these measures to follow social distancing are being introduced to keep everyone safe.
Passengers to be Monitored Closely
CISF is going to pay close attention to the passengers at the airport. Every airport is going to be installing a very high-definition CCTV camera system and at as many places as possible so every passenger can be tracked very clearly. The passenger’s identity will be recorded digitally and the CCTV recordings
procured will be saved for 30 days. There are more new rules that you are going to witness once the lockdown is lifted. Get ready to be used to reaching airports hours early before your scheduled departure. You are going to have to download the Arogya Setu app
on your device, without it you won’t be allowed to board your flight. Passengers will be asked to fill up questionnaires at the airport detailing about their health status and mentioning if they have been infected with the virus before.
