Colombian aviation is improving, with carriers increasing routes to Ecuador and the Dominican Republic. LATAM has restarted service to Quito, Ecuador, and Wingo has begun service to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
Wingo, a low-cost carrier, has begun its fourth flight to the Dominican Republic, connecting Medelln International Airport (MDE) and Santo Domingo (SDQ).
The first flight took off on March 31st, as part of a twice-weekly schedule that includes Monday and Friday departures.
Currently, the Colombian airline travels to Santo Domingo from Bogotá, the country's capital. It also flies from Bogotá and Medelln to the Dominican Republic's Republican resort retreat of Punta Cana.
During the peak summer season, Wingo will provide approximately 5,000 tickets each week between Colombia and the Dominican Republic, with 30 weekly flights between the two nations.
Wingo's Boeing 737-800 aircraft will be used for the flights. Copa Airlines owns the airline, which has an eight-strong Boeing 737-800 fleet with an average age of roughly 13 years.
After restarting flights on April 1st, LATAM Colombia has returned to Quito, Ecuador's capital.
The airline has resumed service between Bogotá and Quito, with five flights per week scheduled (Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays).
The airline will fly its Airbus A319 aircraft, which has 144 seats - 18 premium economy seats and 126 economy seats. On this route, LATAM Colombia will supply over 700 weekly seats.
