It has been a long wait for the industry to see the Boeing 777X in commercial activities. Many hoped and expected Boeing to finally launch 777X aircraft in the Dubai Airshow 2021. But the company’s sales chief, Ihssane Mounir said that the aircraft is not yet ready. Mounir said that Boeing is still six years away from the 2027 ICAO CO2 emissions regulations. This will give Boeing a little more time to tweak the frame of the aircraft before committing to a freighter.
However, this hasn’t slowed down the company’s business. Boeing is already in advanced talks for the 777X freighter with the likes of Qatar and FedEx. The aircraft manufacturer is also looking for an exemption from the 2027 ICAO CO2 regulations and discussing a re-engined 767.
Boeing Has Secured Deal With DHL Express
On day 2 of the Dubai Airshow 2021, Boeing has secured a deal with DHL Express for nine 767-300BCF aircraft. This is the biggest order that DHL Express has ever made for the Boeing 767-300 converted freighter.
With the increased fleet, DHL will be able to respond positively to an increased global demand for cargo capacity.
