Etihad Airways Brings UAE Paralympic Champions Back Home

Before the competition started, since Etihad Airways was the official airline for the UAE’s team, the airline had also hosted 32 members of the UAE Paralympic Committee on their way to the competition.

Etihad Airways, the official carrier of the UAE Paralympic team has brought all the players back home from Tokyo. The UAE team has brought bronze and gold medals home by competing in several domains including Cycling, Powerlifting, Shooting, and Athletics. Etihad flight, EY 0871, departed Narita Airport at 9 PM local time on September 5, 2021. The airline was carrying the victorious UAE para-athletes, coaches, medical and media crew. All the hero’s on the flight were given a special welcome from the cabin crew of Etihad Airways.

Etihad Airways Had Also Flew Paralympic Team Members to Tokyo

Before the competition started, since Etihad Airways was the official airline for the UAE’s team, the airline had also hosted 32 members of the UAE Paralympic Committee on their way to the competition.

Amina Taher, Vice President Brand, Marketing and Sponsorships at Etihad Airways, said: “It is an absolute honour as the UAE’s national airline to host the UAE champions on our flights. Over the years, Etihad has flown champions from many different sporting disciplines and world games, and we are proud to have this opportunity once again.”

UAE had participated in the Paralympics being held in Tokyo with a 12-member squad. The athletes were representing the nation in different sports mentioned above.

Taher added, “As the official airline partner of the UAE Paralympic team and on behalf of the entire Etihad family, we send our heartfelt congratulations to these champions.”

On arrival at Abu Dhabi International Airport, the delegation was greeted by His Excellency Mohammed Fadel Al Hameli, Chairman of the UAE National Paralympics Committee, members of the UAE National Sports Committee and Etihad Airways representatives.

Etihad Airways has taken the level of air travelling from beyond excellence when it comes to luxury. The airline stepping up and taking care of the travelling needs of Paralympic members travelling to Tokyo and back from UAE just shows its commendable commitment.
