Etihad Airways to Operate Special International Flights to Six Indian Cities from July 15

The second-largest and flag carrier of UAE, Etihad Airways has rescheduled the resumption of special flights flying to international destinations to July 15, 2020. Earlier, the airline planned to resume special flights flying to six Indian gateways from July 12, 2020. The move has been announced by the airline as the Indian government is partially lifting the ban from international operations. Etihad Airways officially stated that since India and UAE have partially lifted restrictions in international operations, the airline will operate special flights between July 15, 2020, to July 26, 2020, in six Indian gateways

Indian and UAE have Agreed on Special Arrangements

Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri tweeted and stated that special arrangement to operate flights between Indian and UAE is a part of the close strategic partnership between Indian and UAE to assist UAE residents who are presently in India to return to UAE. Also, all the Indian carriers who will be allowed to operate repartition flights to bring back Indians from the UAE will be allowed to carry the ICA-approved UAE residents on their onward journey from India to the gulf country. Etihad Airways will fly special flights from Abu Dhabi to Bengaluru, Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad and Kochi. The charted flights which will be operated by UAE carriers to fly out Indians from the UAE will be allowed to carry ICA approved UAE residents to their native country on their return leg. The entire special flight operations will be held between July 15, 2020, to July 26, 2020.
