Budget airline GoAir today announced 22 new flights within the domestic circuit. As per the information revealed officially, GoAir is looking to boost connectivity between tier-II and metro cities, and the launch of 22 new flights also means the company will end the year on a high note. GoAir confirmed the new flights would be operational between six new routes from December 20. Right now, GoAir runs over 325 daily flights and the number will only get better with the 22 flights which will be added on December 20. The airline also says the upcoming 22 flights schedule has been fixed keeping the business and leisure hours in mind.
GoAir to Add 22 New Flights on December 20
The 22 new flights will fly between six different routes- Ahmedabad-Indore, Bengaluru – Kochi, Kochi – Hyderabad, Delhi – Varanasi, Delhi – Indore, Ahmedabad- Varanasi. Furthermore, GoAir says the frequency of flights between Delhi-Goa sector will be increased with the upcoming 22 new flights. GoAir has added two new destinations as well as you can see from the above routes and they are Indore and Varanasi.
Aforesaid, the new flights will fly starting December 20, 2019, as the company wants to end the year on a high note.
“GoAir will close the calendar year on a high note – aggressive network expansion, an increased fleet of aircraft, the addition of new destinations and six new connections on our existing network. In the last 12 months, our network capacity has gone up by 33%, inducted 17 new aircraft to the fleet, resulting in 100 new flights. We have added ten new airports to our network – Phuket, Male, Abu Dhabi, Muscat, Dubai, Bangkok, Kuwait, Singapore, Kannur and Aizawl. Since our inception, we have flown 78.6 million passengers, and our aim is to reach the 100 million mark in the next two years. GoAir has placed a firm order of 144 A320neo aircraft and we will be receiving at least one aircraft a month on average for the next foreseeable future,” GoAir Managing Director Jeh Wadia said.
GoAir to Operate Nearly 350 Daily Flight by the End of 2019
The addition of 22 new flights means the overall daily flight operations of GoAir may reach 350. Right now, GoAir is operating over 325 daily flights and it will reach 347 with the addition of 22 new daily flights between the above-mentioned routes. GoAir also stated that it had flown nearly 13.78 lakh passengers in October 2019, which is a decent number. The new flight additions will only increase the number in 2020.
Overall, GoAir operates to 27 destinations within India alongside eight international destinations including Singapore, Phuket, Muscat, Male, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Bangkok and Kuwait. Besides expanding the domestic connectivity, GoAir is also trying to expand its presence in the international travel circuit.
