IndiaOne Air soft-launches a UDAN flight from Bhubaneswar to Jeypore:
IndiaOne Air recently (on 3rd August) conducted a trial flight between Bhubaneswar and Jeypore in Koraput district of Odisha. IndiaOne Air was launched earlier in June after receiving clearance from Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
According to reports, the airline uses single-engine nine-seater Cessna Grand Caravan aircraft on the routes. It is the first scheduled airline to use a single-engine aircraft for commercial flights.
What is Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) - UDAN ?
The Ministry of Civil Aviation has launched Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) - UDAN on 21 Oct 2016 with an objective to facilitate/stimulate regional air connectivity from unserved and underserved airports in the country by making it affordable. UDAN is a market driven scheme.
Airports Authority of India (AAI), the Implementing Agency has awarded 954 valid routes to Selected Airline Operators (SAOs) in the country under Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) - UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik). Out of this, 425 RCS routes connecting 68 airports have been operationalised including 2 Water Aerodrome & 8 Heliports, so far. About one Crore passengers have travelled in UDAN flights, so far.
IndiaOne Air:
DGCA has approved schedule of IndiaOne Air for operating regular domestic flights in the ongoing summer schedule 2022. IndiaOne Air has filed schedule for operating on Bhubaneshwar-Vishakhapatnam - Bhubaneshwar sector.

As per Ministry of Civil Aviation, Domestic Aviation operations are soaring with all COVID protocols in place. As on 8th August 2022 the following are the statistics:
- 3,15,289 passengers on 2,509 flights.
- Total flight movements: 5,037
- Total passengers: 6,31,699
Soon we may see IndiaOne Air flying with full-fledged operations.
