IndiGo, the low-cost carrier has already announced flights connecting Kannur with domestic destinations like Bengaluru, Goa, Hyderabad, Chennai and Hubli. Now, the airline has announced that effective March 15, it is going to launch new routes connecting Kannur with international destinations. As part of these two new flights, IndiGo will connect Kannur with Doha with daily flights and a six-days-a-week service between Kannur and Kuwait.
International Destinations Connected to Kannur by IndiGo
These new international flights taking off from Kannur will cater to both leisure and business travellers. It is worth noting that the fights from Kannur which connect domestic destinations start with all-inclusive fares of Rs 1,299. On the occasion of the launch of these new flights, Mr William Boulter, Chief Commercial Officer, IndiGo said, “We are pleased to have the opportunity to fly out of the new airport in Kannur starting January 25th i.e. tomorrow. We are also excited to announce our international flights connecting Kannur with Doha and Kuwait effective March 15, 2019. Kannur will be the 4th airport in Kerala that IndiGo is starting operations from, and, with the launch of these new international services, IndiGo now operates 66 daily non-stop flights between India and the Middle East. The launch of these new international services will provide increased convenience to customers based out of North Kerala and South Karnataka, through these new non-stop services to Gulf at affordable fares.”
Fares Starting at Rs 7,999
As per the schedule charted out by IndiGo, the new flight 6E 1755 from Kannur will depart at 05:10 and will arrive in Kuwait at 8:00. The fare for this flight will be Rs 8,999. The return flight from Kuwait, 6E 1756 will depart from there at 9:00 and will reach Kannur by 16:05. The fare for this flight will be Rs 7,999. The flight between, Kannur and Doha which will be numbered 6E 1715 and 6E 1716 respectively will take from Kannur at 19:05 and will reach Doha by 21:05, whereas the return flight will leave from Doha at 22:05 and will reach Kannur by 4:40. The fare for Kannur-Doha route will be Rs 8,499 whereas for the return route it will be Rs 10,999.
