IndiGo is the largest carrier in India which flies half of the passengers in India with close to 50% market share. The carrier’s website, as such, is a big part of the flying process which allows the passengers to avail information about flights, schedules and also allows them to book tickets as well. However, until now the IndiGo website was fully in English. But, in a new announcement IndiGo has announced that its website would also be available in Hindi as well, and then soon after it would be available in other languages as well. This would allow the flyers who don’t know English that well and are more adept in Hindi or other regional languages to explore the website, book tickets and avail information about the airline.
First Indian Carrier to Have a Hindi Website
It is also worth noting that this would be the first time that an Indian carrier would get a website in Hindi. An IndiGo official said about the matter, “We have been planning this for some time. Having our website in different languages has different costing for each language. We will make a start with Hindi early next year and then the website will be made available in more Indian languages.”
IndiGo’s Massive Fleet Carries Half of Domestic Air Traffic
It makes sense for IndiGo as the carrier has the most market share in India right now with currently more than 250 planes in its fleet and the size of the fleet increasing at a rate of one aircraft per week. Since airfares are cheap, and more and more travellers are taking the option of flights, reaching out to as many people as possible is the sensible thing to do for IndiGo. The new website which would be available in Hindi and other regional languages would ensure that as many people as possible are able to book their tickets on IndiGo flights with ease.
