India’s largest airline, IndiGo, has onboarded the former SEBI (Securities & Exchange Board of India) chairman, M Damodaran as the non-independent executive director of the company. The announcement was made by InterGlobe Aviation, the parent company of IndiGo. The move is subject to shareholders' approval.
Damodaran was earlier serving as an Independent Director and chairman of the board of Directors at InterGlobe Aviation from January 24, 2019, to May 3, 2022.
Currently, the chairman of the board of directors of InterGlobe Aviation is Venkataramani Sumantran, who was appointed for the position on May 4, 2022. Damodaran is a retired IAS officer who was the chairman of SEBI between February 2005 and February 2008.
The airline is indeed in the hands of experienced people and ones who definitely understand its culture.
