IndiGo Allowing Passengers to Rebook Partial Flights

Due to fog and bad weather conditions, sometimes connecting flights from the transit locations are cancelled or pushed ahead/behind their departure time. For those occasions, IndiGo is allowing passengers to either rebook their partial flight journey or get a full refund against it.

It is important to be clear that the refund will not be provided against the full flight journey. The money for the transit flight which would be the second leg of the journey after the layover will be refunded to the passenger.

With this, the airline aims to increase the flexibility in booking for passengers in case there are limited flight options or unexpected delays/cancellations. IndiGo is already providing this option to the passengers booking through its mobile app or website.

In case the flight of the passenger is cancelled, he/she will get an option called ‘Book Partial Journey’. This option can be used to book another flight without paying anything extra for it. But if there is no other flight the passenger would like to be on, he/she can also opt for getting a refund for the partial flight.

IndiGo’s Chief Commercial Officer, William Boulter expressed that these two new options have been added in the IndiGo Plan B options to offer more flexibility and choice to the passengers. The new options will help passengers when flights are cancelled or delayed due to extreme weather conditions.

It is worthy to note that no other airline in India is offering such an option to its passengers.
