IndiGo, India’s largest airline will now be operating a new direct flight service between Bhubaneswar and Jaipur thrice a week on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. According to a PTI report, the flight service was inaugurated virtually on Tuesday by the Civil Aviation Minister, Jyotiraditya M Scindia.
The civil aviation minister said. "I feel honoured to have inaugurated the direct flight between the capital cities of Odisha and Rajasthan. This will boost tourism potential and ensure the exchange of culture."
Scindia further said that the Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar will be getting an investment of Rs 200 crore to boost its passenger handling capacity from 25 lakh to 35 lakh. The direct flight service between Rajasthan and Odisha will boost tourism prospects for both states.
IndiGo’s chief strategy and revenue officer Sanjay Kumar said that the new domestic flight will strengthen regional connectivity and promote trade, commerce, as well as tourism.
Sanjay Kumar further said, "We are pleased to initiate direct connectivity between the temple city of Bhubaneswar and the pink city of Jaipur. We are committed to providing an affordable, on-time, safe and hassle-free travel experience."
IndiGo Adding New Flight Service from Multiple Destinations in Winter
IndiGo has been continuously adding new flight services from multiple destinations for the winter. The airline has announced that it will be connecting Indore, a city in Madhya Pradesh (MP) with Surat (Gujarat), Allahabad (UP), and Jodhpur (Rajasthan).
Further, the airline will also be starting multiple new flights to connect Kanpur (UP) with major cities in India including Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Mumbai. All of these flights will boost regional connectivity and will also aid in increasing domestic trade and commerce.
