If there is one service which has been missing from the Indian aviation industry it is in-flight Internet connectivity. While the flyers have been enjoying the latest and the most high-end services in flights and ultra-cheap fares, internet accessibility has been a big issue in most flights right now. However, this could be solved very soon as Nelco, the Tata Group owned firm has said that it could roll out in-flight internet connectivity services as soon as in January 2019.
Nelco Obtains License from DoT
It is worth noting that earlier this year, the company had obtained the license from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) regarding relaying of services in flights. The deadline for the rollout of the services is said to be in January, or one and a half months.

Tariff Details Not Available Right Now
The next question regarding in-flight internet connectivity is supposed to be about the tariffs. Regarding which Nelco has said that the tariff is something that it cannot comment on right now as the modalities are being “fine-tuned”. This report comes from PTI. Nelco Managing Director and CEO PJ Nath said on the sidelines of India SatCom 2019 organised by Broadband India Forum, "We are hoping to start in-flight connectivity services around January timeframe. We will start with data services.” The official also did not say which airlines the company has partnered up with.
