Lufthansa Airlines Revamps Its Top Management

Effective from April 1, 2022, Jens Ritter, the airline’s current Member of the Executive Board and COO of Eurowings, will take charge as the new Chief Executive Office of the airline.

Lufthansa Airlines is all set to make changes in its top management. Effective from April 1, 2022, Jens Ritter, the airline’s current Member of the Executive Board and COO of Eurowings, will take charge as the new Chief Executive Office of the airline. He will succeed Klaus Froese, who adorned the position for more than six years. Froese will fly for Lufthansa as a captain, piloting the new Boeing 787 that arrives next year.

The current Head of Corporate Responsibility at Lufthansa Group, Annette Mann, will become the new CEO of Austrian Airlines as of 1 March 2022. Annette Mann succeeds Dr. Alexis von Hoensbroech.

As on March 1, 2022, Dietmar Focke, the current Head of Engine Services at Lufthansa Technik, will join the Executive Board of Lufthansa Cargo, where he will be responsible for Operations and Human Resources.

Dr. Jörg Beißel, the Lufthansa Group's Head of Corporate Controlling, will take over as CFO of the airlines on April 1, 2022. He succeeds Patrick Staudacher, who will leave the company at the end of April.

Frank Bauer, who is now a member of the Eurowings Executive Board and is responsible for Finance and HR, will be in charge of the Lufthansa Group's corporate controlling.

Kai Duve will take over the responsibilities of Human Resources and Finance on the Eurowings Executive Board on February 1, 2022. Kai Duve is the current head of Lufthansa Airlines' Frankfurt cabin crew division. Benedikt Schneider, who is currently in charge of Deutsche Lufthansa AG's Executive Office of the Chief Human Resources and Legal Officer, will follow Kai Duve on February 1, 2022.

From March 1, 2022, Wilken Bormann, the present Head of Lufthansa Group Finance, will be responsible for Finance and Human Resources on the LSG Group Executive Board. Dr. Kristin Neumann will be succeeded by him.
