The Airports Authority of India (AAI) is going to take over 122 acres of land from the Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) government for building a new terminal at the existing airport. According to a PTI report, AAI will build a state-of-the-art 25,000 square-metre new terminal building at the J&K airport.

The runway of the J&K airport has already been expanded and the 30% load penalty has been removed. Because of the removal of the penalty, the airlines and passengers will find a huge relief. The relevant authorities have already been notified of the development and the land will be soon given to the AAI for the development of the new terminal.
