Students from Kenai Middle School, located near Anchorage, Alaska, are raising $145 to attend a sixth-grade camp in May. Ravn Alaska, an airline that specialises in serving tiny villages in Alaska, and Krispy Kreme, a doughnut company, agreed to help. The courier delivered over 1,000 pounds of Krispy Kreme donuts to the youngsters last week so they could sell them and save money toward their goal.
The delectable cargo included 715 dozen doughnuts, packaged in 21 cartons and weighing 1101 pounds in total. This is the second year in a row that Ravn Alaska has flown in glazed doughnuts to help students afford campaign expenditures.
The money raised will be used to send the youngsters to Victory Bible Camp in Sutton, which is about a four-hour journey from Kensai. Hiking to a fossil bed and around the Matanuska Glacier are among the three-day activities. Bug identification, first aid training, fire building, and water testing will all be covered.
Ravn's charity contributions do not end with the Krispy Kreme shipment. The airline has sponsored the Teacher of the Month programme, which honours local educators for the 2021-2022 academic year, and has assisted the financially distressed UAA Seawolf Hockey team.
