Scoot Launches Services To Singapore From Visakhapatnam And Coimbatore

Scoot Tigerair Pte Ltd, operating as Scoot, has launched services on Visakhapatnam – Singapore and Coimbatore – Singapore routes. There are five weekly services on Visakhapatnam – Singapore route, and daily flights between Coimbatore and Singapore. The service between Coimbatore and Singapore commenced on October 27, 2019. Ticket fare lower than most full-service carriers

Besides the newly launched routes, Scoot’s service is available across routes such as Chennai, Hyderabad, Amritsar, Trivandrum, and Tiruchi. The promotional fares on the routes is open until November 16, 2019. The one-way tax-inclusive offer fares start from Rs 5800. The tickets are available on website www.flyscoot.com and Scoot mobile app. The tariffs are expected to be 30% lower than the full-service carriers. The base fare includes 10 kg cabin baggage. There are two more options, including more luggage options and meal.

The ticket fare for Coimbatore-Singapore round trip with cabin baggage starts at Rs 17,000. Inclusive of meals and additional luggage, this can go as high as Rs 22,000.

95% load factor on Coimbatore-Singapore route

According to a press release from the company, Scoot had a 95% load factor in the first week of Coimbatore-Singapore trips. According to Calvin Chan, Chief Commercial Officer of Scoot, the newly launched routes strengthen its presence in India and will allow it to offer the Indians more travel options at affordable price. The routes were transferred from sister airline, SilkAir, with increased frequencies on Scoot. Scoot’s aircraft claims to have 11% more seating capacity than SilkAir.

The new routes will allow the passengers to travel to Singapore, and then connect to 60 other destinations across Scoot’s network from Singapore. Some of these destinations include Australia, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines. The passengers may also choose to connect to destinations on the networks of Singapore Airlines and SilkAir.

Scoot previously added Trivandrum to its network in May 2019. Scoot is a Singaporean low-cost airline owned by Singapore Airlines.
