Spicejet Adds Rajkot As Its 54th Domestic Destination, Announces 46 New Services

The new additions are part of the airline's plan to expand aggressively across the country, in the wake of the void left by Jet Airways.

  • SpiceJet is the first airline in India to launch non-stop flights on Pune-Jodhpur and Chennai-Durgapur routes.
  • The service on the Chennai-Durgapur is based on UDAN scheme.

SpiceJet Airlines has announced the launch of 46 new non-stop flights on domestic network, starting from October 27, 2019. Among the new services, SpiceJet has added Rajkot as its 54th destination. Daily non-stop flights will be available on Mumbai-Rajkot route. The airline has also added first non-stop services on Pune-Jodhpur and Chennai-Durgapur routes. Services on Chennai-Jaipur, Bengaluru-Guwahati, Chennai-Vishakhapatnam, Chennai – Patna, Vijayawada-Vishakhapatnam, Surat-Udaipur, Hyderabad-Aurangabad, Ahmedabad-Jodhpur routes are other few.


Commenting on the new additions, Ajay Singh, Chairman and Managing Director, SpiceJet said, “We are excited to announce the launch of 46 new domestic flights and the addition of Rajkot, one of the prime industrial centres of Gujarat, as our 54th domestic destination.”

“As we add newer cities and flights to our network providing affordable air travel options to more and more people, our focus remains firmly on connecting the unconnected parts of the country. We are bullish on the growth potential of the smaller cities and towns of India and see great demand on the routes we have announced today,” he added.

Besides the new services, SpiceJet has increased the frequency of services on a few routes. Services on Hyderabad-Varanasi, Bengaluru-Shirdi, Chennai-Ahmedabad, Chennai-Guwahati, Hyderabad-Bengaluru, Delhi-Ahmedabad, Kolkata-Chennai, and Chennai-Bengaluru have increased.

SpiceJet intends to deploy its Boeing 737 NG and Bombardier Q400 aircraft on all these routes.

Bookings are now open on SpiceJet website as well as on SpiceJet mobile app. The passengers can also opt to book tickets through online travel portals and travel agents.
