SpiceJet Flight Cancellation and Change Policies, All You Need To Know

SpiceJet is one of the fastest-growing airlines in the Indian aviation industry. With one flight in every part of the country now. The airline commenced its operations back in 2005 and since then it is recognised as one of the best low-cost airlines in India. SpiceJet operates over 550 flights daily and is planning to rapidly increase its operations further. According to current stats, it is also the second-largest airline in India. It is also known for providing a comfortable and luxurious international flight experience. With its aim of expanding its services, the airline was very keen to gain a big chunk of the market that was left open by the exit of Jet Airways and recently, it managed to do just that. For flyers at New Delhi, now you can also check-in directly through the New Delhi metro station. In addition to this, have you ever used the airline’s web check-in service? If you haven’t you must, it saves you a lot of time. If you are a frequent air traveller, then you should also know about the SpiceJet Flight cancellation policies.

SpiceJet Flight Cancellation Policies

SpiceJet allows its customers to cancel their flight if needed. Sometimes due to unexpected circumstances or booking of a wrong flight by mistake leaves you vulnerable for missing your flight. Considering this, SpiceJet cancellation policies say that you can cancel your flight but you must do it two hours before the scheduled departure of a domestic flight and four hours before the scheduled departure of an international flight. But there are charges involved of course. When the responsibility of the flight cancelled is yours, you will have to pay a hefty sum if you haven’t booked your flight with the Flexi plan. You can cancel your SpiceJet flight simply by going to the airline’s website and clicking on the manage my booking option. You can enter the PNR number provided to you by the airline or just log in with your ID. Then you will be able to see your active bookings. From there you can choose to cancel it or change it. In certain conditions when the flight is cancelled, the responsibility of it is of airline’s itself. In situations such as technical failures in aircraft or due to bad weather conditions, the airline cancels the flight. That time, you will be provided with an option to travel in an alternate flight for which you don’t have to pay anything. In case, you want a refund, that will be provided as well in full.

Flight Change and SpiceJet Flight Cancellation Charges

For a change in flights, you will have to pay a charge of Rs 2,250 per change. In addition to this, if the flight that you have booked is expensive than your original booking, then you will have to settle the difference in prices of the tickets by paying the amount either online or at the airport counter of the airline. The change should happen before 2 hours for domestic flights and 4 hours for international flights from their scheduled departure. In case of SpiceJet flight cancellation, you will have to pay Rs 3,000 as charges for cancellation. In case the flight is delayed then the flyer is eligible for some refund. When the flight is delayed by an hour, the flyer is entitled to Rs 2,000 or their price of the ticket, whichever is less. If the flight is delayed by more than one hour but less than 2 hours, then the flyer is eligible for getting Rs 3,000 or the price of the ticket, whichever is less. In case the flight is delayed by more than 2 hours, the flyer is entitled to a sum of Rs 4,000 or the price of their ticket, whichever is less.
