Domestic Air Passenger Traffic Remains Significantly Lower in Contrast to Pre-Pandemic Period

A report from rating agency ICRA suggests that domestic air passenger traffic in the country stayed 44% down to 111 lakhs in April to December of 2021 in comparison to the same time period of the financial year 2020 but saw a jump of 52% when compared to December 2021. 2.9% Increase in Domestic Air Traffic Passenger, 93.9% Passenger Load Factor for SpiceJet: DGCA Report May 2019

The domestic air traffic passenger in the country has increased by 2.9% in May, according to the latest report released by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). The aviation regulator attributes the growth to the ongoing tourist season. All domestic airlines together flew 1.22 crores passenger in May.
