Vistara Aims to Commence Services to Europe and Japan Soon as it Completes 5 Years of Operations

Popular airline Vistara, which started commercial operations back in January 2015, is now aiming to expand its services beyond India and Southeast Asia. A few days ago, Vistara confirmed that it would begin operations to Japan by 2020-21 and it's looking to increase the overall fleet to 42 by March 2020. Now, Vistara has confirmed that it's willing to commence services to Europe as well by 2020-21. Right now, Vistara is providing services to Singapore, Dubai, Bangkok and Colombo (the latest addition to Vistara's international operations).

Vistara Will Provide 11-Hour Durations After the Induction of Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner

In a recent report, Vistara confirmed that it has placed orders for Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner to provide long haul travels. Vistara's Chief Executive Leslie Thng in a new interaction with IANS confirmed that the airline would induct Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner by early next year post which it will be able to operate to destinations with up to 11 hours of maximum flying time. "The 787-9 aircraft that we induct early next year will be able to fly to destinations with up to 11 hours of flying time," he said, according to IANS.

Vistara is looking to expand its reach in the international markets as it's now approaching the fifth anniversary. The airline jointly owned by Tata Group-Singapore Airlines currently has interline agreements with 26 airlines across the world. Vistara established codeshare agreements with some of the popular airlines like British Airways, Japan Airlines, United Airlines, Singapore Airlines and SilkAir.

"The choice of our existing codeshare partners may be indicative of the long-haul destinations that we are looking to add to our network," Thng added.

Vistara to Provide Services to Europe and Japan by 2020-21

During the same interaction, Thng confirmed that the airline would start operating to Europe and Japan by 2020-21. Aforesaid, Vistara currently operates to Singapore, Dubai, Bangkok and Colombo international destinations. Very soon, Kathmandu will become another of Vistara's international destination.

In other news, Vistara already confirmed that its overall fleet would be increased to 42 by the end of March 2020. "We will continue to take delivery of 320s and expect to have 42 aircraft by end Mar 2020 including 787 and 321," he added. In addition, Vistara also ordered six Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft to cover the long haul destinations.
