The development of the stadium is a part of the expansion project of Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) that is currently underway. The stadium will be built on a 6.3 acres land parcel at the airport campus, adjacent to the newly-built South Access Road that runs parallel to the Main Access Road. The location will enable the crowd to reach the stadium without creating any hindrance to the traffic in the airport.

BIAL plans to outsource the management of the stadium. For the purpose, it has invited proposals to design, build, operate and manage the concert arena.

Kempegowda International Airport to use plastics to build roads

Besides this exciting initiative, Kempegowda International Airport has requested Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) to use plastics to make the road. BBMP could give the plastics collected from across the city to KIA for building roads. According to reports, KIA has requested for 50 tonnes of plastic for road construction. BBMP may also soon set up stalls across the city to collect plastics from people. The plan is still in the nascent stage.

Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport is the third-largest in India and is also one of the busiest in the country.
