Vande Bharat Mission Passengers Don’t Need to Pay Extra for Bookings Through Travel Agents

The Civil Aviation Ministry of India has released a special statement for all the passengers who are booking their flights under the Vande Bharat Mission. The Ministry has marked that all the passengers who are booking tickets through travel agents on international flights under the Vande Bharat Mission will not have to pay any extra charge to the travel agent. The fares which are mentioned in the official website of Air India will only be applicable in all the international flight being operated under the Vande Bharat Mission. All the scheduled international flights to India have been suspended from March 23, 2020, in the wake of Covid-19 pandemic.

Vande Bharat Mission is Helping Stranded People Reach their Destinations

The government of India has formed bilateral agreements with foreign nations like the US, Germany and France to allow airlines of both the countries to operate special international charter flights. Under the Vande Bharat Mission, state-owned carrier Air India is operating special international flights to help stranded people reach their destinations. Apart from this, some of the private airlines have also operated certain flights under the Vande Bharat mission. The special international flights are being operated from July 06, 2020, and the operations are still carried out by the airlines under the mission.

Indian Aviation Sector is Severely Impacted Due to Travel Restrictions

The Indian aviation sector has taken a deep hit due to the outbreak of Covid-19. Since the virus was spreading quickly, the government announced a lockdown period to combat the deadly virus. The domestic aviation operations started from May 25 after a gap of two months. However, all the airlines are facing massive financial distress. All the airlines in India have adopted various measures to reduce financial pressure. The airlines have adopted cost-saving measures like price slash, LWP scheme and firing of employees to reduce the financial pressure and ensure a comfortable and hassle-free journey amid difficult times. As of international operations, it is expected that the operations will start soon once the virus is contained, and the threat is reduced.
