Vande Bharat Mission Next Phase Will Associate With More Countries

Vande Bharat Mission is run by the government to bring back stranded Indian citizens from other countries amid the pandemic. As per the Civil Aviation Ministry, India is joining with countries like US, Canada, Qatar, Oman, UAE, Singapore, Frankfurt, UK, Paris, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, New Zealand, Philippines and others. Earlier, the ministry had announced that phase 5 of the Vande Bharat Mission will start from August 1. Also, as the phase will progress, there will be more countries on the list to add to the Mission.

Vande Bharat Mission Phase 5

In a series of tweets Mr Hardeep Singh Puri said, "Among other destinations, Ph-5 will connect India with USA, Canada, Qatar, Oman, UAE, Singapore, UK, Frankfurt, Paris, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, New Zealand, Philippines & more. Like we did earlier, more destinations & flights will be added as this phase progresses." He further added, "More than 814K stranded Indians have returned through various means under VBM since 6 May 2020, out of which more than 270K returned on flights from 53 countries. Now we prepare to dovetail Phase-4 of VBM into Phase-5 from 1st August 2020 & bring back more Indian citizens."

Regarding the bookings, the Union Civil Aviation Minister said, "details about ticket bookings will be shared by @airindiain @FlyWithIX & other airlines shortly. It is our earnest effort to reach out to every stranded & distressed Indian & facilitate their evacuation & outbound travel. I request you to kindly exercise patience & bear with us."

Earlier on July 25, Puri had tweeted, "VBM, the mission of hope continues to soar & facilitate inbound & outbound international travel of stranded Indian citizens. I am happy to announce that we are further ramping up VBM &have decided to go ahead with Phase-5 from 1-31 Aug 2020. A detailed schedule will be shared soon." He further added, "evacuation & outbound travel of every stranded Indian is a priority. No one will be left behind. More than 814K people have returned since 6 May through various means. More than 270K have returned on VBM flights operated by @airindiain, @FlyWithIX & Pvt Indian carriers."
