Vistara Announces Mumbai-Singapore Flights Under VTL Scheme

The passenger must be fully-vaccinated and should carry a VTL pass to apply for the visa.

Soon after the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) and the Ministry of Civil Aviation of India announced the opening of quarantine-free travel under the Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) scheme, India’s full-service carrier Vistara published its schedule for Singapore-Mumbai flights. Vistara will resume operations under the VTL scheme from November 29. Vistara will operate its Airbus A320neo/A321neo five times a week between the two destinations.

The all-inclusive, round-trip fare between Mumbai and Singapore starts at Rs 28,349 for Economy class, Rs 40,299 for Premium Economy and Rs 84,949 for Business class.

The first fight from Singapore will operate on 29 November at 2.40 pm local time.

From India, the flight UK0105 will depart from Mumbai at 1.50 am and arrive in Singapore at 10 am. The flight will be available on Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Another flight, UK0106, will start from Singapore at 11.15 am, and land in Mumbai at 2.40 pm. The services of flight UK0106 will begin from December 02.

The bookings are open on all channels, including the Vistara website, mobile app, OTT platforms and via travel agents.

Mumbai-Singapore COVID-19 travel guidelines under VTL scheme

The passenger must be fully vaccinated and submit two negative COVID-19 test results – one within 48 hours of journey prior to boarding flight and another on arrival PCR test in Singapore. Children of two and below ages are exempted from the tests. The passenger has to undergo self-quarantine until the result of the PCR test arrives.

Passengers who plan to visit Singapore availing VTL flights must apply for a VTP (VTL pass) and can apply for a visa only after the approval of VTP. They should carry their passport, digital proof of vaccination and an address in Singapore where they will remain in self-quarantine.

The Government also insists on purchasing travel insurance with a minimum coverage of SGD 30,000 (USD 22,000) for COVID-19 related medical treatment and hospitalisation costs. The passengers have to use Singapore’s contact tracing mobile app TraceTogether.
