The entire aviation industry is doing its part to combat the deadly Covid-19 by operating rescue and cargo flights around the globe. Since the government has banned commercial domestic and international flights, only cargo flights and rescue flights are exempted from the travel ban. Vistara has come forward to aid the government in its Mission Lifeline UDAN initiative by deploying its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner for the transportation of medical and essential supplies. The move by the finest full-service carrier will help the government to combat the deadly virus and save human lives.
Vistara will Operate More Cargo Flights In Next Two Weeks
Vistara started its cargo operations on April 19 which operated between Delhi and Mumbai. Since the cases were growing even after the implementation of the lockdown period, the government extended the lockdown period until May 03, 2020, to neutralise the threat of Covid-19. Since the positive cases have spiked, the medical teams are facing a shortage of Kits and other essential items. To ensure adequate supplies, Vistara will operate more cargo flights which will carry and supply essential cargo around various parts of India.
Commercial Operation Will be Suspended Until May 03, 2020
Vistara is contributing its part by helping the government to combat the deadly virus. The finest full-service carrier of India is continuously looking out for cargo operations to ensure supplies of medical kits and other necessary items. Not only this, but Vistara is also taking care of all the staff and pilots who are operating the cargo flights. All the workforce indulged in Cargo operations are equipped with masks, sanitizers and protective equipment. On the other hand, Vistara has suspended all the domestic and international flight bookings until 23.59 hours of May 03, 2020. It is expected that Vistara will start domestic operations once the second phase of the lockdown period is over. However, international operations might begin after the situation gets stable worldwide.
