As per the latest statement by the Andhra Pradesh Air Travellers Association (APATA) the executive Business lounge at Vizag airport will be equipped with “high-end” facilities. The association revealed that after the contracted company has finished its work, the lounge at Vizag airport will have amenities like international standards Wi-Fi, a restaurant and more.
Business Lounge to be Ready in Next 3 Months
APATA in its press release said, “Contract awarded for execution of Executive Business Lounge with International standards with high – end facilities like Restaurant, Wifi etc. The facility is expected to be ready in the next three months (sic).”
It was also reported by the association that the Vizag airport noticed an increase in cargo and passenger traffic in the bygone months. APATA reported that in the first three quarters of FY2018-19 Vizag airport witnessed a growth of 21.3% in passenger traffic. Between 1-4-2018 and 31-12-2018, 21.44 lakh passengers travelled through Vizag airport. The same figure for the preceding year stood at 18.09 lakhs, APATA said.
Vizag Airport Witnesses Massive Growth
The domestic cargo handling at the Visakhapatnam airport witnessed a 17.5% growth, whereas speaking of international cargo, Vizag airport did exceptionally well as it had a growth of 102. 48%. In the coming days, GoAir and Vistara will also begin their services from the Vizag airport. While the full-service carrier, Vistara will be operating its flight from Vizag to Delhi and back, GoAir will establish the route between Vizag and Hyderabad, Bangalore and Chennai. There has also been announcements regarding Scoot, the Singapore based airline starting its operations in Vizag.
