Batik Air to resume direct services from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) to cities in India namely Mumbai, Kochi, and Bangalore effective 1st August 2022.

Batik Air to Resume Flight Services to India

Batik Air Malaysia (formerly known as Malindo Air) in response to the strong demand for connectivity to cities in India, will restore direct services from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) to Mumbai, Kochi, and Bangalore effective August 2022.

Batik Air’s New Schedule:

1. To Mumbai: The first four weekly flight to Mumbai, OD215 will depart KLIA on 1 Aug 2022 at 7:15 pm and arrive Mumbai at 10:25 pm. The returning flight OD216 will depart Mumbai at 11:15 pm and arrive KLIA at 7:15 am.

2. To Kochi: Flight OD231 will depart KLIA to Kochi at 9:35 pm and arrive at 11:10 pm, with the first flight departing on 1 Aug 2022. Flight OD232 will return to KLIA at 12:10 am and arrive KLIA at 7:05am. Frequency to Kochi is also four times a week.

3. To Bangalore: Services to Bangalore is twice a week operating every Thursday and Sunday. The first flight will commence on 4 Aug 2022, departing KLIA at 8:40 pm and arrive Bangalore at 10:20 pm. Flight OD242 will depart BLR at 11:15pm and arrive KLIA at 6:05am.

A Response to Robust demand:

CEO of Batik Air Capt Mushafiz Bin Mustafa Bakri said, “India is an important market in our Indian Sub-Continent network. We are stepping up our services in response to the robust demand for air travel to the cities in India. By October, we will increase our frequency to those cities. Additionally, we are looking at expanding our reach to more cities in this key market. This will offer our customers more flexibility and options in their travel plans.”

Promotional fares for one-way on the new routes are as follows:

1. KUL – Kochi starts from RM309 for Economy Class and RM1209 for Business Class
2. KUL – Bangalore from RM449 for Economy Class and RM1309 for Business Class
3. KUL – Mumbai from RM764 for Economy Class and RM1609 for Business Class

The fares are all inclusive of the free baggage allowance – 20kg for Economy and 30kg for Business Class.

Batik Air will also expand its network with new services between Kuala Lumpur and Amritsar as well as Kuala Lumpur and Kolkata, effective September 9 and September 30 respectively.

Batik Air Malaysia is a subsidiary of the Lion Air Group. Other airlines under its stable include Super Jet, Wings Air, Batik Air Indonesia, Biz Jet, Thai Lion Air and Lion Air.
