GoAir Announces Flights from Kannur International Airport to Hyderabad, Chennai and Bangalore

Wadia Group owned no-frill carrier, GoAir, announced on Thursday that it would add the newly operational Kannur airport as its 24th domestic destination. Also known as the world’s fastest-growing carrier, GoAir said that it would add Kannur to its existing network of flights thus establishing direct connectivity with other domestic airports. As per the carrier’s announcement, GoAir flights would start taking off from Kannur airport on December 9, 2018, which is also the decided date for the launch of the newly commissioned International Airport at Kannur. The new flight schedule for Kannur airport includes direct daily flights to Bengaluru 6 times in a week, to and fro Hyderabad 4 times in a week and Chennai 3 times weekly.

Go Air Announces Three Domestic Destinations from Kannur

GoAir has been on a climb in recent times and has ramped up operations rapidly in the past few months. The carrier has emphasised on growing its domestic and international network progressively. Combined with this new announcement the carrier has also added that it would increase its value proposition to meet the customers’ needs in the coming days. With the addition of these new flights in its existing network, GoAir will touch the figure of 1600 flights in a week by the end of this year. The airline has also added that following the regulatory approval, it would also start its international flights from Kannur. It’s also noteworthy that GoAir was able to report the best On-Time Performance (OTP) and averaged second-highest Passenger Load Factor in the month of September and October this year.

According to the schedule laid out by GoAir, the flight leaving from Kannur to Bangalore would take off at 1:00 PM and would reach its destination at 2:20 PM. Consequently, the flight back from Bangalore to Kannur would depart at 2:50 PM and it would reach Kannur by 4:10 PM. This flight would be available 6 days in a week, except for Tuesdays. The next flight by GoAir to Hyderabad would depart from Kannur at 5:20 PM and it would reach Hyderabad at 19:05 PM. The return flight from Hyderabad to Kannur would take off at 7:45 PM from the source airport. The flights to Hyderabad would fly from and to Kannur on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Lastly, there is the flight to Chennai which will depart from Kannur at 18:10 PM and the same flight back from Chennai would depart from there at 8:05 PM. This one and a quarter hour flight from and to Kannur will be on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

On the occasion of the launch of its services from Kannur airport, the carrier will also be flying special flight to facilitate guest movement from Delhi to Kannur and back. CEO of GoAir, Mr. Cornelis Vrieswijk, has also remarked about the addition of new flights saying, “Kannur is a key market and a significant base for business and tourism in the region. Adding Kannur with its ideal geographical location, we reinforce our commitment towards enhancing connectivity across the country. It is our constant endeavour to provide flexibility of choice to our customers along with on time, convenient and affordable flying experience.” The airline also noted that Kannur, which is one of the most popular beach destinations in Kerala, is going to see better connectivity owing to these new flights.

The carrier also informed that passengers wishing to travel to and from Kannur can book Go Air tickets from the official GoAir website or from online travel portals. They will also be able to use the GoAir official app which is available for both Android and iOS. Further, they can also make use of the GoAir Call Centre, airport ticketing offices and through travel agents.
