IndiGo, the country's largest airline, will begin flying 100 flights between important domestic metro cities and regional centres on March 27, 2022. As a result, beginning March 27, 2022, the airline will provide flights on 20 exclusive routes.

The carrier stated in a statement that it will start offering exclusive flights on a number of routes, including Pune-Mangalore, Pune-Visakhapatnam, Hubli-Hyderabad, Jammu-Varanasi, and Tirupati-Tiruchirappalli. On the same day, it launched the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) route between Prayagraj and Lucknow.

In addition, it intends to resume 16 exclusive flights. Sanjay Kumar, IndiGo's Chief Strategy and Revenue Officer, says, "These new and recommenced routes will not only enhance our domestic connectivity across regions, but also cater to the city-specific travel demand. Reinforcing inter and intra-regional connections between north, east, south, and west, these flights will also promote trade and tourism across the regions. We will continue to offer new routes as per the travel demand in various sectors."

As of January 2022, IndiGo is India's largest passenger airline, with a share of the market of 55.5 %. IndiGo now has a fleet of around 275 aircraft. The airline connects 73 local and 24 international destinations with nearly 1,500 daily flights.
