United Airlines aims to commence daily flights from Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport to San Francisco in the fourth quarter of 2022.

According to a statement provided by the airport as part of an update on foreign flight operations, Qantas, Australia's national carrier, will restart four weekly flights to Sydney on September 14.

According to the corporation, Air India is planning two weekly flights to Tel Aviv, and American Airlines is planned daily flights to Seattle in the near future.

In addition, new routes that had been established a few months before to the pandemic's onset had already been reconnected. It reported that flights to Addis Ababa (through Ethiopian Airlines), Amsterdam (via KLM), and Tokyo Narita (via Japan Airlines) have been restored from Bengaluru.

Beginning in August, Japan Airlines will boost frequency to three times a week from three times a week, and KLM aims to enhance frequency on the Bengaluru-Amsterdam route from three times a week to four times a week beginning next month.

In May 2022, the Kempegowda airport reported strong increase in international airline operations, linking 23 overseas destinations, the most in south India. Between March and April of this year, the airport saw a 15% increase in international Air Traffic Movements (ATMs), with May alone seeing a 48 percent increase.

In addition, during the fourth week of May, average daily foreign traffic had climbed to 9,300 passengers, up from 6,500 in April and 5,500 in March, according to the statement.
