Because of the villagers' protest, the construction of the Navi Mumbai International Airport has stopped. Hundreds of villagers from 27 different villages came together to protest and stop the construction at the airport. According to an IndianExpress report, the village protesters are angry about the fact that the City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) had not fulfilled their promises when acquiring the land.
