Air India has confirmed that it will be operating around three flights this week to Ukraine. “Seats are available on these flights – booking is open through Air India booking offices, website, call centre and authorised travel agents,” said the airline on its Twitter profile.
These flights will help the Indian nationals to leave Ukraine as the tension in the country increases with Russia trying to take over. There are many Indian students living in the Eastern European country enrolled in several colleges and institutions.
An Indian Embassy in Kyiv said, “In view of the continued high levels of tensions and uncertainties with respect to the situation in Ukraine, all Indian Nationals whose stay is not deemed essential and all Indian students, are advised to leave Ukraine temporarily. Available commercial flights and charter flights may be availed for travel, for orderly and timely departure.”
Many of the airlines flying to Ukraine have cancelled their flights because of the rising tension with Russia. It will be interesting to see what will happen in the coming days.
