Air India to Hire Over 4200 Cabin Crew and 900 Pilots Through 2023

Air India, India's leading airline and Star Alliance member has announced plans to recruit more than 4200 cabin crew trainees and 900 pilots in 2023 to support the airline's expansion plans for both domestic and international operations. The airline recently placed a large order with Boeing and Airbus for 470 aircraft, signalling its commitment to growth and expansion. In addition, Air India has already secured plans to lease 36 aircraft, with two B 777-200 LR already inducted into its fleet.

15-Week Training Program for Cabin Crew

Candidates for the cabin crew positions will be selected from various regions of India and undergo a 15-week training program focusing on imparting safety and service skills. Additionally, they will be coached on representing the best Indian hospitality and the Tata group culture. This comprehensive training program will consist of both classroom instruction and in-flight training at Air India's training facility in Mumbai, as well as familiarization flights.

Cabin Crew Batch Began Flying

It is worth noting that Air India has already recruited more than 1900 cabin crew members from May 2022 to February 2023. Between July 2022 and January 2023, the airline trained over 1,100 cabin crew members in the last seven months. Furthermore, in the past three months alone, the airline released around 500 cabin crew members to begin flying.

According to the statement by the company, "With a sizeable aircraft order announced earlier in the month, more flights on international and domestic networks, and re-alignment of domestic routes with AIX connect, cabin crew will play a decisive role in shaping the present and future of the Air India group. The addition of fresh talent will also accelerate the pace of cultural transformation at Air India, which is an integral part of the airline's transformation program, Vihaan.AI."
