AirAsia is one of the airlines which is planning on increasing its stronghold in the airspace with increased connectivity. The low-cost carrier has announced that it will launch more flights in India as part of its expansion plan to have “robust” connectivity. The information comes from a top official. It is worth noting that AirAsia India is currently based out of Bangalore and it connects 21 destinations across India with a fleet of 27 Airbus A320 aircrafts.
AirAsia India Chief Bets on Expansion Plan
AirAsia India Chief Commercial Officer Ankur Garg said in a release, "We continue to strengthen our network across India. I am confident that, with the robust expansion plans we have chalked out for 2020-2021, we will be able to offer our services on many more new routes.” Currently, AirAsia has launched flights to Kochi and Ahmedabad.
AirAsia India Waiting on International Approval
The airline has started new flights connecting New Delhi-Kochi and New Delhi-Ahmedabad. These will be daily flights, AirAsia has added and will connect the capital to the two cities with a daily frequency. Right now AirAsia India only flies domestically, but is awaiting on government permission for international routes. The airline is jointly owned by Tata Sons and AirAsia based out of Malaysia.
