On June 21, 2022, the Ministry of Civil Aviation will commemorate International Day of Yoga by hosting a huge yoga demonstration in Gwalior Fort, which will gather over 2,000 people. Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, Union Minister of Civil Aviation, will inaugurate and lead the event.
The United Nations General Assembly declared the 21st of June as the International Day of Yoga in 2014, on the initiative of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Yoga is an intrinsic part of our country's cultural and spiritual legacy, therefore its global recognition is a source of pride for us.
Because the International Day of Yoga falls during the "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav" year, the Ministry of Ayush has planned to commemorate the day at 75 important spots across India, which will assist to brand India on a global scale.
The theme for this year's IDY 2022 is "Yoga for Humanity," which depicts how yoga helped humanity during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic by helping people and in the emerging post-COVID geopolitical scenario, by bringing people together through compassion, kindness, and building resilience among people all over the world.
Common Yoga Protocol, Expert Yoga Lectures, and Yoga Demonstration are only some of the activities scheduled for the event.
