The national airline of the sultanate, Oman Air has recently signed a deal with Qatar Airways wherein the two airlines have joined hands for a reciprocal loyalty partnership. Under this new deal, the members of Oman Air Sindbad and Qatar Airways Privilege Club will be able to earn loyalty miles when they travel between Doha and Muscat in either direction and on any of the two flights.
Advantages of the New Partnership
The new partnership will allow the members of the Privilege Club to earn Qmiles on the flights of Oman Air and Sindbad members, reciprocally, could earn Sindbad miles on the flights of Qatar Airways as informed in a statement released by Oman Air. It further stated that members of both loyalty programs can also redeem their miles for flights on any of the two airlines between the two cities.
The CEO of Oman Air Abdulaziz Al Raisi talked about this strategic tie-up and said that the relationship between the two airlines will offer a world of exciting travel possibilities for the customers and that the company is delighted that the Sindbad members will now be able to earn and redeem Sindbad miles when they travel on Qatar Airways between Muscat and Doha. He further stated that the company was happy to welcome Qatar Airways Privilege Club members to board on Oman Air flights where they can also earn and spend Qmiles on the very popular sector.
Previously, in December of last year, Oman Air and Qatar Airways had promised to cooperate in order to expand commercial operations for both airlines, boost connectivity and provide an enhanced travel experience for the consumers. This reciprocal loyalty program partnership is designed to strengthen the relationship between the two carriers and provide advantages of code-sharing to them.
For Oman Air, this code-sharing expansion would result in a steep rise in the number of destinations its passengers could have as the airline will now have access to 65 of the Qatar Airways’ destinations in their network across the Asia Pacific, Africa, India, Middle East, and more. The passengers of Qatar Airways will also benefit from the same as they will now have access to six new destinations across Africa and Asia that come under Oman Air’s network.
