It’s only been days since Kannur International Airport went operational and airlines are already beginning to expand their routes from the new airport. Last we announced the schedule and operations of the low-cost carrier IndiGo which is slated to begin its operation in January. Earlier, Wadia Group-owned GoAir had also announced about operating flights between Kannur, Hyderabad and Chennai. Now the airline has also announced a new flight between Kannur and Mumbai which would be effective from January 10th, 2019.

The Wadia Group owned airline has remarked that this new addition to its already existing offerings will bolster GoAir’s growth and will strengthen the GoAir domestic network along with the route between Kannur and Mumbai. Going by the words of the carrier, the new flight has been announced keeping in mind the high demand for this route and with this new addition, GoAir now boasts of operating 234 flights between its 24 domestic destinations. The carrier has also assured that it would also begin its international operations from Kannur International Airport shortly.
According to the new schedule charted out by GoAir, the flight from Kannur to Mumbai, G8 621, will depart from the source at 11:00 PM and it will reach Mumbai at 1:00 AM next day. The flight will operate between Mumbai and Kannur daily and will be effective from 10th January 2019. The return flight from Mumbai to Kannur, G8 620, will leave from Mumbai at 12:45 AM and it will land in Kannur at 02:45 AM. This flight will also be daily from Mumbai and will be effective from January 11th 2019.
GoAir Flights from Bangalore to Phuket and Male
In a related development, GoAir earlier this month had also commenced operations for two new flights flying from Bangalore to Phuket and Mali. These two new flights took off on December 9th from Bangalore. While the flights from Bangalore to Phuket, have been scheduled to be three times in a week, the flights to Male will be twice weekly. It is also worth noting that this year, GoAir has expanded its fleet in India to 41 aircraft including the likes of Airbus A320 and Airbus A320 carriers.
